Man has always been attracted to travel. In the ancient times, he used to travel by walking. Travel used to be difficult to undertake then. Only the brave used to walk towards such adventure. Tourism increases business all over the world. It brings in foreign exchange. Job opportunities increase with tourism. Jaipur's prominent tourist places are Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and Amer Fort.
Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal was built by the Jaipur King Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799. Small windows are made in this palace by the help of air passing through them. These windows open towards the east. Events and festivals were organised in the Hawa Mahal where women used to be involved. That is why the Hawa Mahal is famous for its royal events. Today it stands as a prominent tourist spot for all to behold and see.
Jantar Mantar
East of Cndramahl Jantar Manter called Vadyashala, the building was built by Sawai Raja Jai Singh II. Jantar Mantar had been built by the king Jai Singh II. This has the largest clock in Jaipur, from which one gets the accurate measure of time.
Amer Fort
About 11 kms away from Jaipur on a hill is a fort called Amer Fort. It is surrounded by hills on all sides. Two roads lead up towards the hill, one goes up towards Amer, the others cuts to Jaigarh Fort. Inside the Fort, a palace and an old temple have been constructed. These can be seen even today at Amer. Amer Fort attracts a lot of tourists every year, especially foreign tourists to its site. Navratris are the times when a lot of local people visit Amer and try and understand its history and culture. Amer is deeply rooted in Jaipur's religious and historical traditions.
