Ambaji Temple

Ambaji Temple is one of the 51 Shakti-peeth of Ma Amba Bhawani. The temple is sited at the Gabbar hill top which lies at a distance of 3 km from Ambaji which is in Gujarat. There is endless devotion in the heart of the devotees of ma towards this temple. It is very ancient shrine. There is not any idol of mata in the garbhagriha of temple. A shree-yantra of mata is established here. This shree-yana is decorated in such a way that visitor feels the real presence of mata. The environment during Navaratra at this temple is safe and powerful. It is a beautiful shrine made up of white marble. The shikhar of the shrine is 300 feet high. There are 358 kalash of gold are placed on the shikhar. It is a saying about the temple of Ambabaji that the mundan sanskar of Lord Krishna had taken place in this shrine. Lord Rama had also visited this place for the worship of power.

Getting There

One can reach Ambaji Temple by mean of three modes: road, rail and air. There is a good bus network to reach towards this temple. The Railway station which is near to the Gujarat is at Palnpur junction. The airports which are near to this shrine are Deesa Airport and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Security And Some Tips

There is a provision of tight security at this shrine. CCTV cameras are installed within the temple’s premises so as to keep an eye on each and every activity of the devotee. Every devotee use to be checked first before entering into the sanctum. Yatris should not carry cash and ornaments with them. They also should keep their luggage at safe and secure place.

When To Visit

The best time to visit the temple is during the month of December to May. During summer the timings in the morning arefrom 7:00 AM to 10:45 AM, in the noon are from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM and in the evening are from 7:30 PM to 9:15 PM. During winter the timings in the morning are from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, in the noon are from 12:30 to 4:30 and in the evening are from 7 AM to 9 AM. During monsoon the timings in the morning are from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, in the noon are from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM and in the evening are from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.

What To See And Do

There is a red flag on the top of the shrine which swings in the wind. The main entrance lies at the front along with a small side door. An open square known as chachar chowk envelope the temple where havans use to be taken place. The door of the inner shrine is silver plated. There is no deity in the sanctum but the pujari decorate the upper part of the gokh in a manner that it looks like a deity if seen from a distance. Fruits are distributed as Prasad.

Yatri can have his/her stay at dharamshalas in Ambaji (Gujarat) at reasonable price. These dharamshalas are: Yevla Bidi Dharamshala, Mumbaiwali Dharmshala, Ambaji Dharamshala and Shree Amdavad Ni Samast.

Yatris should take video camera with them in order to trap each and every activity of the whole trip. They should also take a personal diary for having the written record of the whole trip along with the feelings and emotions at that period of time. They should also hire a tourist guide for having the complete knowledge of the shrine including its history. They should also take first aid for curing frequent injury.
