Kandariya Mahadeva Temple
Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is sited at Khajuraho which lies in the state of Madhya Pradesh (India). It is a sacred place of Hindus. It is a temple belonging medieval period of India. The security mechanism at Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is average. The security is only up to the level of crowd management. Yatris should not carry cash and ornaments with them. They should keep their luggage at safe and secure place.
When to Visit
The best time to visit the temple is during the month from January to March and October to December. It is opened all the days of the week. Its timings are: 5AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The entry fee is Rs 10 for each person.

The temple is large and big covering a great span with stunning carved statues and paintings. The shrine is made up of brown stone. The Shikara of this sanctum reveals Mount Kailash having a height of 31 meters. This Shikara is enveloped by 84 other Shikaras. This shrine comprises 646 statues. For taking entry in to the temple yatris have to cross a series of stairs. The porch of this temple is decorated with garlands. After entering the shrine there is a lingam of Lord Shiva made up of marble and an idol of Lord Shiva bearing trident and snake accompanied by the idols of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.
