The recently re-structured Jaipur International Airport (JAI) is located just outside of the city and provides connecting flights to regional hubs such as Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad, as well as connections to international airports. Travelers from the Middle East and Asia can fly directly into Jaipur on the airport's many airlines, both domestic and international.
The airport gained international stature in early 2006 when it expanded its capacity and added an additional runway. As a result, the new runway can simultaneously service multiple passenger planes, while the upgraded terminal features state of the art communications, shopping and logistics.
Inside the terminal, you can find travel amenities, such as shipping services, foreign exchange, travel information and immigration officials. Major airports such as Air India, Spice Jet, Air Arabia, Indian Airlines and Oman Air have direct hubs in the airport. Future plans call for further expansions of the airport to accommodate a greater number of passengers and air traffic.
