Nursing & Physiotherapy College of Gandhinagar Honored as ‘Corona Warriors’

The 23 students of the Nursing & Physiotherapy College of Gandhinagar, run by the Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya, honored as ‘Corona Warriors.'

The institute announced a cash prize of Five thousand INR and a letter of appreciation which is in the Principle “Kar Bhalla Hoga Bhalla” The university would mention ‘Corona Warriors' in mark sheet of serving students. The entire Vidyalaya family is proud of the service of these students during difficult times.

The Gujarat Government determined to provide better facilities to the infected Corona patients. For this purpose, Dr. Jayanti Ravi, The Chief Secretary, Department of Health, Government of Gujarat sent a proposal to Shri Vallabhbhai M Patel, President of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya and the Chairman of the Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal, and asked the students studying in the last year of nursing college and physiotherapy college to serve as a corona warrior.

The university briefed the 90 students of nursing and physiotherapy college the work of corona warriors' in an online meeting attended by Shri Vallabhbhai M. Patel, Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Health Department, Shri I.D. Chowdhury, Asi and with the dignitaries, including Nursing Director Mr. Mayurbhai Damore.

Corrona Warriors-3After this online visit, 50 students were given special training for the service of the ‘Covid-19' patients. Of these, 23 students were sent to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for service in the first phase. The 23 students returned on Wednesday, 17 June 2020 were welcomed and felicitated with a floral tribute for their outstanding work.

On occasion, Shri Vallabhbhai M. Patel, President Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya said that the 2000 bed isolation (quarantine) was arranged at the camps of Kadi Sarva – Gandhinagar as soon as the government announced the lockdown.

Emergency numbers were also issued with standby of paramedical staff and trained personnel.

The board has prepared and delivered kits of life-saving items such as food, groceries, and oil to the needy, 1000 families until the lockdown gets over. Moreover, food was provided for 5000 refugees.

Student Views

Students in their experience said that they are not afraid of the corona, but they can overcome it with caution. Further, they thanked the organization for allowing them to be the Corona Warriors.
