Extensive case study on Media Freedom and Democracy

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Rawat wrote the world's first live and most extensive
case study on Media Freedom and Democracy
– The title of the case study “Media freedom and Democracy: Jab Tak Kala Tab Tak Tala.”

Dr. Rawat said, “it took around one year to wrote this case study. He started this case study in September – October 2017 and completed it on September 2018. The case study published 172 pages with 85 annexure and 131 references, 211 Citation, the reaction of 52 politicians, journalists, celebrates, and other personalities in 7 different tables. In this case study, 155 references mentioned separately in 85 annexure other than 131 references. So a total of 286 references used in this case study. The references cited adequately on every page maintaining international research parameters and standards. The study would help media professionals to understand the campaign and issues related to Media Freedom and Democracy.”

Furthermore, it would also help media, law, management, and art students to understand the working system of the government to make rules and regulations, the role of media to protest the wrong law through the systematic campaign and working culture of the judiciary against unconstitutional law. This case study is also essential in point of view of the reaction of a politician, social activist, a celebratory, and common man after a campaign run by media.

Extensive case study on Media Freedom and DemocracyDr. Rawat recently received the “Best Research Paper Case Study” presentation award in All India Media Conference International- 2019 organized by Lok Samvad Sansthan and Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Udaipur jointly from 27th September 2019 to 30th September 2019 at Mohan Lal Sukhadia University campus guest house auditorium. He received this award from a former professor, IIM, Ahmadabad, Chairman Lok Samvad Sansthan, Former Director UNICEF, New York, US, Prof. K. B. Kothari, and Maintaining Director of one world foundation India, Rajeev Tikoo and GM, Communication, Power Grid Corporation, Naresh Kumar. Around 300 participants participated from 18 Indian states and six countries, which include Hungary, the US, Bangladesh, Nepal, Romania, and Singapore. More than 150 research papers presented in various technical sessions. Dr. Rawat got the best case study paper presentation in one technical session among them.

Chowdhury, Conference Secretary, and HoD and Incharge, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Dr. Kunjan Acharya, Congratulated Dr. Ramesh Kumar Rawat for receiving the award for this case a study presented at the conference.

The Chief Ministers of different states of India, IAS officers, Media Teachers, and Media professionals appreciated the case study. It's based on the Rajasthan Patrika newspaper campaign run from Sept. 2017 to Feb. 2018 on ‘Black Law.' The study includes, various front-page articles and editorial wrote by the chief-editor, Rajasthan Patrika, Gulab Kothari, and other eminent writers to rays this issue on an international level. The Rajasthan Patika is only a single newspaper out of 1,00,000 Newspapers of the country run this campaign and create a history. During the campaign, the newspaper took the decision not to publish CM, Vasundhara Raja's name, and not to give media coverage to her till they dismiss black law. After that, Rajasthan Patrika creates history in the media world and provides a message against the step taken by the government for media freedom and democracy. The action appreciated by various political leaders of all political parties, film celebrities, social organization representatives, educational institutions representative, judiciary members, media professionals. The government came on the back foot and withdrew this black law.
