Interactive Session on Consumer Broadband Labels and Empowering Consumer Choices in Manipal University Jaipur.
Manipal University Jaipur organized an interactive session under the Faculty of Arts & Law in collaboration with CUTS International on the topic of Consumer Broadband Labels and Empowering Consumer Choices.
The session conducted by Rahul Singh, Policy Analyst, CUTS International. Rahul Singh emphasized that there is a significant need to improve Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of
Experience (QoE) for broadband consumers through an effective and transparent information disclosure mechanism, a joint international practice that needs to tie-in to the current regulatory governance of TRAI and DoT.
Prof. Vijayalaxmi, Head, Department of Law, welcomed the guest and Prof Mridul Shrivastava, Dean FoA&L presented a floral bouquet. A short animated clip was displayed before the session to highlight the Quality of Service (QoS) challenges faced by consumers on broadband services, information asymmetry & related challenges and the need for adoption of consumer broadband labels in India. Prof. N.D. Mathur and Prof Anil Mehta also guided the students.
The session attended by 250 students of Law, Arts, and Journalism & Mass Communication. The session graced by Shaikh Zuber, CUTS Senior Communication Manager, Prof Geetika
Tankha, Dr. Rina Poonia, Head of Departments and Directors of other Schools. Dr. Sunita khatana was the master of ceremony, and Dr. Shilpi Rastogi conveyed the vote of thanks.
