Jaipur, June 19, 2022 JAIPUR: ‘Eat-Play-Love’, a three-day photography exhibition was inaugurated by education minister Shri BD Kalla at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. With an aim to celebrate the international Father’s Day, 2022 on June 19-- a moment to celebrate good parenting - UNICEF Rajasthan in association with Lok Samwad Sansthan had organized the exhibition The exhibition is an effort to celebrate and inform parents how they can support their children through effective photographs. Around 200 photographs of children and youth from Rajasthan and other states were received out of which the jury selected 35 photographs for the exhibition. Education minister Mr B.D Kalla during the inaugural session of the exhibition said that the world celebrates Father's day once a year but here in India every day is celebrated as Father's day. Here people even celebrate Father's day after their deaths by celebrating shradh rituals. Remembering his father, he added that his father taught him the truth is God and said, "If wealth is lost nothing is lost, if health is lost nothing is lost. But if the character is lost everything is lost He further said that only fathers are the people who become happy when their children succeed more than them. While appreciating and Lok Samvad Sansthan for conveying a photo exhibition on such a beautiful theme, Dr Kalla, who also is minister for art and culture added, “This is a beautiful theme to have a photo exhibition on. Every photograph exhibited here is conveying a meaning and a story. I would like to congratulate all participants and hope they continue to grow bond with their fathers and photography too”. In her address on the Father’s Day, Isabella Bardem, Chief UNICEF Rajasthan office said, “Having a caring, loving, nurturing father is important to support each child boy or girl to achieve his full potential and leave behind an unforgettable mark in his or her life. Good parenting shared equally between a father and mother helps a child to become an adult who is healthy, socially equipped, educated, and mentally fit to deal with challenges that he will face during his lifetime”. “The parenting journey of a father starts even when the child is in the mother’s womb. This is the phase when taking care of a mother’s nutritional and health needs has an immediate impact on their child’s development. During this phase the fathers should support the mothers in ensuring proper breastfeeding of the baby, taking care of their nutritional needs with an adequate diversified diet, ensuring proper vaccination and timely referral to a health professional if the child is unwell”, added Bardem who shared stories from her childhood and memories with her father. . She also insisted that fathers should continue to love, nurture, and guide them, until children become adults. “From 2 to 6 years old, it is important that the father equally play with their girl or boy child, boost their curiosity, tell them stories, which is a wonderful medium to learn new things, help them to socialize with peers and be prepared to schools by bringing them to Anganwadi centres or kindergarten”.   Just before announcing the call for photographs, a two-day online photography workshop was also organized where 70 participants were taught photography skills and oriented about the importance of the father and his role in the life of a child and how to depict the same through the camera. Both technical and artistic nuances of storytelling were addressed in the sessions which spanned over two days.   The eminent jury members and resource persons for the workshop and the exhibition were exhibition were Mr Sudhir Kasliwal, Mr Himanshu Vyas Mr Vikram Shridhar, Mr Mahesh Swami, and Mr Purushotam Diwakar, Ms Seung Ah (Eunea) Kim and Dr Tabeenah Anjum.     Elaborating on the theme of the exhibition, Kalyan Kothari of Lok Samwad Sansthan said, “The objective of the workshop and exhibition is to build the capacity to learn technical and creative aspects and focus on how to capture emotions and bond in a relationship through learned experts and mentors. Through social media campaigns and through print media, we got a large number of responses from around 22 states of India including five foreign countries and more than 300 participants (age group 14-24 years) registered for the online workshop”.
