First time in the state there has been so much purchase of wheat. The State Government is excited with this. However, it is much less than the neighboring states, but so far has been the record in the history of the state. Target to buy two million tons of wheat at supported prices was nearly completed. The state government opened 318 purchasing centers and at MSP purchased 19.5 lakh tones of wheat and which is the first time in the history of Rajasthan. Last year 13.5 lakh tones of wheat was purchased. Maximum has been purchased in Ganganagar and was nearly 10 lakh tonnes of wheat .The farmers being given rs.100 as the bonus showed interest in selling wheat at the supported prices. According to the department of agriculture ,there was around 84 lakhs tonnes of wheat production.
