Under the Annual Academic activity for the students, The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, JECRC University organized the Media Summit Anugoonj: A Media Discourse where the renowned media figures Sh. Jagdish Chandra Ji (CMD, First India News Group), Ajay Shukla (Chief Editor, India News Group), and Dr. LP Pant (State Editor, Dainik Bhaskar) participated in the Summit and discussed on various contemporary media issues.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest escorted by the other dignitaries. The Vice-Chairperson Arpit Agarwal and Dheemant Agarwal, Director (Digital and Marketing Strategies), welcomed the guests with floral greetings.
Sh. Jagdish Chandra while addressing the students, said that it is the need of an hour for every budding journalist to keep updated with new information. In his statement, he said that today is the time of social media. Today everyone has a mobile and internet in their hands. Therefore, young journalists will have to be ahead in writing and presenting content today; only then they will be able to survive in this industry.
Referring to the stories about his life experiences and events, he gave tips to the youth that the young journalists should have news addiction to get ahead and succeed in life. They should search for news, work on them and bring them out, only then they will be able to do something good in society.
Ms. Nikita Batra (Assistant Professor, JECRC University) presented the memento to the Chief Guest Sh. Jagdish Chandra as a token of love and gratitude.
The Vice-Chairperson, Sh. Arpit Agarwal applauded the student’s efforts. The Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Narendra Kaushik (Associate Professor, JECRC University). The programme culminated with National Anthem.
