“Yoga is a spiritual, mental, and physical practice that originated thousands of years ago in India for physical and mental fitness. It has been accepted as the best way to release our negative energies and embrace positivity in life. Maheshwari Public School, Jawahar Nagar celebrated the International Yoga Day on Tuesday, 21st June 2022 virtually with a yoga training session for the teachers, students, and their parents who also joined the program online with the same joy and excitement.
The programme commenced with a prayer. The physical instructors of the school demonstrated different asanas like Surya Namaskar, Pranayama, Stretching, and different rhythmic asanas which were followed by OM chanting. Their excitement was palpable on-screen as they geared up to celebrate the day. Warm-up exercises were taken up and all of them performed sitting and standing asanas. The students learned many asanas and were happy to be a part of this celebration.
School Principal Mr. Ashok Vaid encouraged everyone to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration. He emphasized enhancing the soundness of the mind and body through yoga. About 50 students of the school reached Albert Hall to perform some asanas there to mark the day.
