Five locations in Rajasthan, including UNESCO World Heritage site Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal, go blue on world children's day

On the occasion of World Children’s Day, celebrated November 20 as a part of UNICEF's #GoBlue Campaign, locations including historical Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort are being lit with blue lighting.on Nov 19 and 20,2022.

This year, the theme of World Children's Day is on sports as a powerful means to promote inclusion, equality, and non-discrimination.
Every year UNICEF with partners, illuminates iconic buildings in blue light to raise awareness about the rights. As November 14 to 20 is also celebrated as ‘Child Rights Week’, events are organised to encourage children to learn about their rights and the way to have access to them.
On this occasion, a total of five locations are being illuminated on the 19th and 20th night from 6:30 PM till 10:30 PM with blue lights in Rajasthan, out of which four are in Jaipur and one in Udaipur. These include historical and world heritage sites such as Hawa Mahal, UNESCO and Amar fort, Amar Jawan Jyoti and Elevated Road from Sahkar Marg to Sodala. Apart from this, the famous Sukhadiya circle in Udaipur also turned blue.

Friendly football match on November 20, Jaipur
As sports is the theme for this year, on November 20, Sunday on World Children's Day, UNICEF Rajasthan is also organising a friendly football match where players from six villages of Ajmer shall play two matches between 11 AM to 1 PM. The event shall be organised in association with Rajasthan Football Association and Union Football Club, Jaipur.
