Being a state capital and a major tourist spot on global map, Jaipur is well connected by roads, railways and airlines. The city is centrally located and is situated in vicinity of national capital New Delhi. Travelling by buses is one of the cheapest and convenient modes to reach the city. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation run buses on hourly basis for those frequent travellers to New Delhi. With the advantage of technology, tickets booking is easy with a click of mouse or booking them on counters. Similarly, the city is well connected to almost every part of the country through rail and air network. Separate counters for international tourist at railway station has made it easy for guests to book tickets, which is cumbersome for locals.

While travelling the city in tight budget travelling by local bus transport system is cheapest way seeing all major attractions. But, it may also turn out to be tiring for some as it consumes more time. Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation runs three types tour for visitors – full day, half day and pink city night tour. These tourist buses have guides to give briefing about the places and engage tourist with the city’s attraction. After introduction of new AC fleet of buses travel and sightseeing has become comfortable.

Apart from buses, cars and taxis are available on a call for full day trip or for whole tour. However, the rates are higher than auto rickshaws. You can book a taxi through phone, agent or hotels that make arrangements to pick you up at door steps. It is advisable to book taxi through authenticate sources or agents to avoid complicates.

For local transport, auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws can be hired to move around in city areas where roads are narrow and commuting is difficult. They are good means of transport that allows getting on and getting off at any part of the city. Pre-paid booths are available at major auto stands like railway station, bus stand at Sindhi Camp area etc. The best part is you can negotiate the fare before hiring auto.

Cycle rickshaw is another mode of travelling, which catches fancy of international tourists. Those who are fed up with the fast-paced and mechanical life can enjoy cycle-rickshaw ride. It can be an excellent idea for a couple to enjoy the ride and spend some quality time together. Though rising pollution in city has made rickshaw ride a bit uncomfortable, but hiring it on lesser known roads or traffic-free roads can be awesome.
