Nahargarh best Tourist Destinations in Jaipur

 Among the famous tourist’s attractions of Rajasthan, Nahargarh Fort of Jaipur is top ranked.  It was constructed by Sawai Man Singh and the construction was completed in the year 1734 which was extended till 1868. Some of the parts of the fort such as the huge walls were later renovated by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh in the year 1880. He added some of the Mural paintings and beautiful designs over the walls. It is situated on the Aravalli mountain ranges and hence it shows a mix of Indian and European architectural styles.

Nahargarh fort is located approximately at a height of 700 feet and it is nearly about 15 km away from Jaipur city. The meaning of Nahargarh is “the abode of Tigers” and the most attractive in the Nahargarh fort is Madhavendra Bhawan. This bhawan was used in the summer season by the royal families and now it is a famous picnic spot for the visitors coming to Jaipur. A cafeteria and a restaurant are also built inside the complex by the Rajasthan Government. This is one of the most beautiful and significant place of Jaipur. Nahargarh fort overlooks the Pink City of Rajasthan as it is located on the edge of Aravalli ranges. The view of the city from the fort is breath-taking. Being situated at the height on the hill side it is one of the best places in the world as a tourist destination. It is lovely and breath taking where the enjoyment of simple ambience of being a beautiful location of Nahargarh fort gives pleasure to the visitors.

The sightseeing of the Jal Mahal looks awesome from the Nahargarh fort and the crazy zig zag way gives pleasure while travelling. It is from one of the forts which formed the defense ring for the city. The forts in the defense rings are Amber fort, Jaigarh fort and the Nahargarh fort. The earlier name of the fort was Sudarshangarh but later it was named as Nahagarh because of the dead Rathore Prince Nahar Singh. The fort was haunted by his spirit at the time of construction. To pacify his spirit, a temple was built in the fort in his memory and the temple is known by his name as Nahargarh temple.

The Nahargarh fort also has a Baoli in it which in itself has unique features as there is no symmetry in the design and many more. The steps are built in such a way that it will collect the water from the hill side of the Nahargarh Fort. The steps looks crazy almost like waves rolling down the hill side.

The ticket charges are Rs 15 for Indians and Rs 20 for foreigners.  Camera/ Video charges are INR 30/70. Entrance Fees for Indian Citizen Rs. 10.00, Foreign Citizen Rs. 80.00, Indian Students Rs. 2.00, Vehicle Entrance Fees (Bus charges Rs. 100.00 Gypsy/Car/Jeep/Mini Bus Rs. 65.00 and Motorized two wheeler Rs.10.00. It is a very awesome place to watch out the whole pink city from the sky high mountain. In nights the look of light showering pink city will refresh your mind and soul.
