Jagannath Mandir
Jagannath Mandir had gained its solid structure in 1691 by the king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo. It is sited in Ranchi (capital of Jharkhand). The building of the temple is placed on the hill top.It is much more similar to Jagannath Temple of Puri which is in the state of Orissa. This shrine is stunning. The building of this temple is quite high. This temple is worshipped and visited in the honour of Lord Vishnu. It is a well-known Hindu temple. It entails three sanctums i.e. Subhadra, Balabhadra and Krishna. The complex of the temple consists of attractive garden, flags, deities and small sanctums. The glory of this temple is at par. Getting There
One can reach Ranchi by mean of three modes: road, rail and air. There is a good bus network which connects Ranchi to many other cities. The journey through train can be carried out through Hatia (HTE), Ranchi Junction (RNC) and Ray (RAY) etc. the journey through air can be carried out through Ranchi Airport (IXR). After reaching Ranchi one can reach the shrine by hiring bus or taxi.
Security and Some Tips
There is a foolproof security at Jagannath Mandir. There is strict police protection at the shrine for crowd management. The CCTV cameras are installed within the shrine to have a keen watch on each and every activity of devotee. Yatris should keep their luggage at safe and secure place. They should not carry cash and ornaments with them.
When To Visit
The best time to visit the Jagannath Mandir is during the month of October to March. This temple is opened for all the days of the week. The timings are: 6 AM to 7:30 PM. It is also opened for public holidays. There is no entry fee to visit the shrine. The duration of the visit is Around 1 to 2 hours.
What To See And Do
There are two routes for reaching towards this temple. The first route is through stairs and other route is through hiring vehicle or by having own vehicle. There is a vast space within the main shrine for taking rest. After entering into the temple there is a big tree which enables the yatris to take rest and to get seated under its shadow. For satisfying the thirst of the devotees there is a water huge tank within the sanctum. The deities of Lord Jagannath and other gods are decorated with jewels and garbs. Prayers are offered to the god by the devotees with true heart.

The annual fair of Rath Yatra is held at the shrine of Jagannath. So many tribals and non tribals devotees are attracted towards this shrine and use to have a visit. People not only from Ranchi but also from nearby towns and villages use to visit this shrine during this festival. This festival of rath yatra is celebrated with great joy and devotion. The festival of snan yatra is celebrated here at the time of Purnima and full moon day. It is the bathing festival of Lord Jagannath.

Yatris should take video camera with them in order to trap each and every activity of the whole trip. They should also take a personal diary for having the written record of the whole trip along with the feelings and emotions at that period of time. They should also hire a tourist guide for having the complete knowledge of the shrine including its history. They should also take first aid for curing frequent injury.
