Chandimandir
Chandi mandir is a holy place of Hindus. It is sited near the state of Chandigarh (India). It is worshipped and visited in the honour of goddess Chandi who is considered as the ‘goddess of power’. The temple consists of beautiful environment. The temple consists of deities of many other Hindu gods. They are: Ram, Shiva, Hanuman and Radha Krishna. It is one of the Siddh Peeth which is considered to be the place where the desires of the devotees are fulfilled. The city Chandigarh has got its name by this temple. Getting There
One can reach this shrine by mean of three modes. They are: road, rail and air. Bus network of different types followed the journey towards Chandimandir. They are deluxe or semi-deluxe buses, ordinary and air-conditioned. The rail network of Chandigarh consists of two trains: Shatabdi express and Himalayan Queen. The airplane connects the three cities Amritsar, Leh and Delhi to Chandigarh.

When to visit
The best time to visit the temple is during the month of March and October as at that time the fair of Navaratri use to be organized.The temple is opened for all the days of the week. The timings of the temple are 6 AM to 10:00 PM. There is no entry fee to visit the temple. The visit duration of this temple is around 1 hour.
What To See And Do
The Chandimandir has occupied a large span and is completely white in colour. It is designed with great exotic architecture. For taking entry in to the shrine one has to climb some steps. After entering into the sanctum there comes a hall followed by another hall. After that there is inner shrine which consists of the idol of Mata chandi. The walls of the inner shrine are red in colour. The idol is made up of black stone. This idol is decorated with garlands and jewelry. The head of the statue is covered by swarna mukut. The mata is adorned with colourful poshak and is surrounded by statues of other gods i.e. Lord Shiva, Rama, Hanuman and Radha Krishna. The maha aarti that takes place within the shrine provides mental peace to the devotees.
