Galta Temple

This world famous Pilgrims Paradise popularly known as Shri Galta ji Temple is a Holy Ashram and a Governing Office of the Supreme of Shri Vaishnava Tradition which is also mentioned in many holy texts and scripts of the world. A pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site, the Galta ji Temple, is located only 10km away from Jaipur. Galta ji has been a retreat for Hindu ascetics since the early 1500s its present temple was built by Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II, in the 18th Century. There are numerous temples in the comples, including kunds or tanks. There are seven tanks, The ‘Galta Kund‘, is the holiest one and is believed to never get dry. Best time to visit Every year on ‘Makar Sankranti' in mid-January. Thousands of people take holy dip in the tanks to wash out the sins.
Krishna Temple, Surya Temple, Balaji Temple and the Sita Ram Temple, situated very near to the Galta ji Temple. The Sisodia Rani Garden (Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh),is a magnificent palace and garden near to Galta ji temple.
