A Big Decision By The Chief Minister A Board Will Be Formed Soon For the Welfare of Workers in Unorganised Sector

Jaipur, August 4. Taking a big decision for the welfare of lakhs of workers in the unorganized sector, Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has given directions to form the ‘State Social Security Board for Unorganized Workers’ to ensure their social security. The primary task of this board will be to form the outline of the social security schemes for these laborers.

Shri Gehlot on Tuesday was addressing the review meeting of the Labour Department and the Department of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship through video conference from his official residence. All district collectors and district level officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.

Launch A Campaign for Registration of Disadvantaged Construction Labourers

The Chief Minister directed to launch campaign throughout the State for the registration of disadvantage eligible construction laborers/workers through Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board so that every eligible laborer could get the benefit of the social security schemes operated through the board.  He directed the Labour Department officers to go to construction sites and the places where laborers gather to get jobs and motivate the disadvantaged laborers to register themselves.

Skill Development Should Be According to the Demand of Industries

Reviewing the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said that it is important to train youth according to the demand of industries so as to link them with employment. Large scale training programme should be conducted for this. He directed that there are many ongoing schemes for skill development, which should be integrated and simplified so that the youth can easily take advantage of it.

District Employment Officer Will Now Be District Employment & Skill Development Officer

The Chief Minister said that a major employment crisis has arisen in the period of the corona pandemic. In such a situation, the skill development of youth and laborers is important to link them with employment. He directed that the district collector should ensure better utilization of the Raj Kaushal portal launched for this. He said that employment and skill development are supplementary to each other, so now the designation of the District Employment Officer should be District Employment and Skill Development Officer.
