Jaipur Airport grabbing its international status recently, gains itself a high status among other leading airports of other cities like Delhi, Mumbai etc. It has best modern set up with hi tech baggage systems and host of other facilities.
Several airlines like Kingfisher Airlines, Go Air, Spice jet, Indigo operates domestically here while Air India and Jet Airways have both domestic and international operations. Other Airlines like Oman Airlines, Air Arabia are the international carriers here. Jaipur is well connected to major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Goa, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Srinagar, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Guwahati etc.
For Ahmedabad, Spice Jet and Indigo Airlines provide to and from service. Two daily flights to Jaipur from Ahmedabad arrive Jaipur at 1715 and 2030 hours. These flights provide a return journey from Jaipur to Ahmedabad at 0730 and 1035 hours in the morning.
Go Air, Kingfisher Airlines, Spice jet and Indigo Airlines operate flights from Bangalore to Jaipur with three flights in morning and two in the evening. On the journey from Bangalore to Jaipur, the same carriers provide one early morning, two after noon and one evening flight. For Chennai, Spice jet and Indigo airlines are the only two carriers with daily flights. Delhi is well connected by air to Jaipur with almost 7 flights connecting them. Jet Airways, Indian Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, Go Air provide services on this route. Kingfisher is a major player here with three flights between Delhi and Jaipur on daily basis.
Only one Spice jet daily flight connects Jaipur to Goa and one Indigo Airlines daily flight connects Jaipur to Guwahati. Spice jet and Indigo Airlines both have their routes from Jaipur to Hyderabad and vice versa. Spice jet, Indian Airlines and Indigo airlines have connectivity between Jaipur and Kolkata with Spice jet and Indigo operating daily while Indian Airlines operating on alternate days i.e. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Mumbai- Jaipur route serves high rush with nine flights operating on this route on daily basis. Three Jet Airways flights, two Indigo Airlines flights and one flight each from Kingfisher Airlines, Spice jet, Go Air and Indian Airlines provide service on this route. Jet Airways also provides services between Jaipur and Udaipur with one daily flight.
There are several other flights that connect to other cities like Aurangabad, Jammu, Chandigarh, Kochi, Srinagar, Sholapur, Pathankot, Bhavnagar, Aizwal, Kolhapur, Khajuraho, Rajahmundry, Bellary etc. but they are not direct flights.
There are several international flights from Jaipur to Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur etc. With the ongoing project for runway expansion at Jaipur Airport to accommodate bigger aircrafts like Boeing 747 and Airbus 320, Jaipur Airport is bound to witness the entry of other major international players like Singapore Airlines, Ethiad, Gulf Airlines and Biman Airlines. Currently, the national airline carrier Air India has flights operating between Jaipur and Dubai, Sharjah. Jet Airways also offers flights on the same route and Kuala Lumpur. Oman Air connects Jaipur to Muscat while United Arab Emirates also has flight connecting Dubai and Sharjah.
The prices on above route depend on the dates of travel, date of booking, chosen carriers etc. The prices vary greatly from one airline carrier to the other. The prices may be very high if the tickets are booked on the spot or few days before the day of travel. However, if there are a lot of vacant seats, the prices may fall tremendously. The approximate prices exceed Rs. 5000 for one side journey to Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Goa etc. while they are in the range of Rs. 2500 to Rs. 4000 for Delhi, Mumbai, Raipur, Jammu, Indore etc.
Thus, the airline traffic at Jaipur Airport has increased tremendously over the years with higher connectivity and is expected to ramp up greatly once the runway project is complete.
