5th February 2018, An Industry-Academia conclave was hosted and organized by Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) in association with The Employers Association of Rajasthan (EAR) & Bhardwaj Foundation, Jaipur, on 5th February 2018 with the objective of bridging the industry-academia gap and to improve the employability of engineering graduates in India.
A large number of delegates from various industries and academic institutions were part of the conclave, and more than 200 people participated in the conclave. The attraction of the conclave was the panel discussion on two most important key issues: “Making Student Interaction with Industry Effective and Mutually Meaningful” and “Making Faculty Interaction with Industry Effective and Mutually Meaningful.” After discussions on the topics mentioned above, it was concluded that the students should be made industry ready by emphasizing more on a practical part and encouraging them to visit industries. They shall also be encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
To strengthen relationships of MUJ with industry, during this occasion the institution signed two MoU, one with Genus Corporation and another with The Employers Association of Rajasthan.
The programme started with lamp lighting by Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, President, MUJ, Shri. P.M. Bhardwaj Chief Advisor EAR, Shri. N. K. Jain Chairman EAR, Prof. N.P. Kaushik Vice-Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University, Shri Subhdra Papriwal, Director, Shri Edibles Pvt. Ltd &President-UCORI , Prof. R. L. Raina Vice-Chancellor, J.K. Laxmipath University, Dr. Arvind Agarwal, President, Arya Group of Colleges, Dr. Pooja Agarwal, Director, Arya Group of Colleges, Col. Ravi Gosain Provost BSDU, Prof. N. N. Sharma Pro-President MUJ, Prof. G. C. Tikkiwal Dean Research & Innovation, MUJ and Prof. Vandana Suhag, Registrar MUJ.
Prof. Gurdaman Lal Sharma, Director, School of Automobile, Mechanical and Mechatronics, Manipal University Jaipur welcomed the guests. Mr. P. M. Bhardwaj gave a brief about the conclave theme “Effective Industry-Academia Partnership – Opportunities and Challenges.”
Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Sancheti addressed the gathering and shared academia expectations from collaborating with industry and the challenges and opportunities associated with it. Prof. N. N. Sharma gave a presentation briefing about MUJ and the University initiatives to increase industry academia Collaboration.
Shri N. K. Jain gave an overview of initiatives launched in academia by the Employers Association of Rajasthan and benefits being realized from such partnerships.
The conclave was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. S.S. Ghosh, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur.
