8th Rajasthan Science Congress Valediction Ceremony 

Jaipur/22 October 2021: The valediction ceremony of the 8th Rajasthan Science Congress in Association with Vaigyanik Drishtikon Society was held at IIS School Kshipra Mansarovar Jaipur. 

Dr. Subhash Garg, Technical Education Minister, Government of Rajasthan, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He addressed the young participants, congratulated the organizing team of the 8th Rajasthan Science Congress, and wished young students their bright future. He opinioned how the pandemic period stopped the career opportunity for the young generation, but things are going well again. With the use of science and technology, sustainability can be achieved. Government should support the young researchers and students in the execution of fruitful researches.  

The three-day mega event witnessed the eminent scientists from all over India under the able guidance of Dr Ashok Gupta, Chancellor, IIS (Deemed to be University) deliberating upon some major issues and challenges related to science and technology. During the three-day science congress, the eminent personalities from the fields of science and technology apprised the participants about the innovations and experiments going on around the country. Dr. B.S. Bisht, Regional Director, Atomic Minerals Directorate, Jaipur gave an overview of Exploration Activities for Atomic Minerals in Rajasthan. Dr. Ravindra Kumar Director of defense laboratory Jodhpur, DRDO, Government of India, motivated and inspired the students for defense research. Dr N K Khatri Retired DGM, Geo Physics ONGC Ahmedabad, informed the participants about the subsurface petroleum characterization.

The science congress was graced by the presence of Prof CS Solanki, Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Mumbai, the brand ambassador of Solar Energy for Madhya Pradesh, also known as “Solar Man of India”. He expressed his views on the Energy Swaraj- an Essence of Sustainability. He said that increasing energy consumption is required to maintain economic growth rates, while rampant use of fossil use of energy is causing climate change, threatening not only sustainable life but the sustainability of the life on the planet. 

Prof SL Kothari, Vice President, ASTIF, Amity University, Jaipur said that an ecosystem consists of all living organisms and the physical environment within which they interact with each other. The ecosystem provides different kinds of goods and services for human well-being and livelihood. Waste material can be used for different purposes.

Dr. Marshal Dhayal, Associate Professor Nano Therapeutics, and Bio-devices, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, discussed his research studies on methodologies applied for the identification of biomolecules and their interactions with proteins and pathogens through different types of analytical instruments.

The Three Day Science congress witnessed sessions on various themes such as Material and Applied Science, Life science, Environmental Science, Chemical Science, Internet Science, Psychology, Economics, and Science Communication. The three-day event had 20 eminent speakers from the areas of science & technology with 100 participants. The focal point of this event was an exhibition on various themes like “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, “Innovation & Research”, “Natural Resources”, wherein poster design, working, and project models were exhibited & the best poster, project/working models were awarded.
