In the colorful Pink City the temples are as much splendid as the city itself. Most of the temples in Jaipur have been built by the maharajas of the city and as such bear a strong resemblancae with the monuments that constitute the pride of Jaipur. Some of these temples have been built in the premises of the royal buildings of that time. The temples as well the monuments reveal the grandiosity of these Rajputana rulers. The temples are scattered throughout Jaipur, be that plains, foot hills or palaces.

Pilgrimage centre built by maharaja which lie beyond the gardens amidst low hills are delightful spots for religious people. Peace and devotion buzz at such areas. Some ancient temples, pavilions and holy kunds (natural spring and water tanks) occur in lush landscape.

The Holy Places in Jaipur attracts several pilgrims from round the world to its sanctified destination. Jaipur is known for its beautiful temples which were mainly constructed by several royal maharajas. The temples of Jaipur are the pride of the city. The temples of Jaipur shares great resemblance with the ancient historical monuments.

The landscape of Jaipur is dotted with numerous temples and religious places. It is because of the numerous temples that it is sometimes also known as Chhoti Kashi. Some of the famous temples in Jaipur include Govind Dev Ji Temple, Galtaji, Shri Kali Temple, Sanganeri Gate, Jaipur, Lakshmi Narayan Mandir commonly known as Birla Temple, Garh Ganesh Temple, and Panchayati Hall.

Other renowned holy places in Jaipur are Amba Mataji Ka Mandir, Charbujaji Ka Mandir, Kalla Hanuman Mandir, and Tarkeshwar Mahadev. In Shila Mata Temple, which is in Amber fort goddess is worshipped by thousands of devotes. The image of the god came all the way from Jessore by Raja Man Singh.

1. Jagat Shiromani Temple: Jagat Shiromani Temple was built by Shri Kankawatiji in the year 1601 who was the Maharani of Maharaja Man Singh I who built it in the honor of her beloved son Maharaja Kumar Jagat Singhji. Her son passed away in the year 6th Oct, 1599. The Temple is a famous Lord Krishna temple and is known for its saint-poetess Mira Bai. The temple is famous for its magnificence and fine skills that are well portrayed in the temple.

2. Govind Devji Temple: The temple is situated along the sprawling Jai Niwas Garden and is lying to the north of Chandra Mahal. The temple is known for the deity Govind Devji, who primarily initiated the temple of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. The temple has an architectural beauty of its own and it’s known for its marvelous splendor. The image of the deity was brought from Vrindavan here by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. According to popular legend, Lord Krishna's image in the temple looks exactly like Krishna's form during his incarnation on Earth. The deity originally belonged to Srila Rupa Goswami who was a disciple of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

3. Galta Ji Temple: Galta ji is a place in Jaipur. It is situated amidst the range of hills vast east of Jaipur. On the top of the hill overlooking the Galta valley is a sun temple. To the east of this temple is a water tank which is fed by a perennial spring of pure-water. Galtaji is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site in the town of Khaniya-Balaji Indian state of Rajasthan. The site consists of several temples and sacred kunds in which pilgrims bathe. It is believed that Saint Galav spent his life at Galtaji, practiced meditation, and did penance. The site was of particular importance to the Vaishnavite Ramandandis.

4. Birla Temple: Birla Mandir, Jaipur is a Hindu temple located in Jaipur, India and is part of one of the several Birla mandirs located all around the country. The grand temple is located on an elevated ground at the base of Moti Dungari hill in Rajasthan. The temple is sometimes also referred to as the Laxmi Narayan Temple.

The enormous temple was built during the year 1988, by Birla Group of Industries, one of the business tycoons of India. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan), the preserver and his consort Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth.

Garh Ganesh Temple is an ancient temple of Lord Ganesh in the city of Jaipur. It is located on the hills near Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort.

Panchayati Hall is a Hindu temple devoted to the goddess Durga and Lord Shiva, located in Jaipur.

The “Kalki Temple” of Jaipur was built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh who dedicated the temple to the tenth avatar or reincarnation of Lord Vishnu who is yet to be born. Today, the Kalki temple wears a deserted look with hardly any visitors, except for a priest who has been appointed by the Government to take care of the rich architectural heritage of the past.

Located in the heart of Jaipur, the “Moti Doongri Temple” was modeled after a Scottish castle. Built in white marble, the temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and has three domes that portray the secularity of our country.

Apart from these there are other temples as well which attract thousands of devotes from all over Jaipur as well as abroad and many of them are praised for their architectural beauty.
