MANIPAL UNIVERSITY JAIPUR TO ORGANISE 4TH CONVOCATION ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2017
The 4th Convocation of Manipal University Jaipur would organize on September 07, 2017 at University Campus. The Chief Guest of the function will be Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Shri Prakash Javadekar. Smt Kiran Maheshwari, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Govt. of Rajasthan Higher Education, Technical Education, Sanskriti Education, Science & Technology shall be the Guest of Honour. Sh. Vasudev Devnani, Hon’ble Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Rural Dev & Panchayati Raj, shall be the distinguished Guest on occasion. President Dr. Sandeep Sancheti conveyed that the University is honored to have Shri Javadekarji as the Chief Guest who has in his short tenure as Minister of HRD initiated radical and innovative measures to improve the standard of education both at school and University levels. Steps to make education inclusive have been undertaken to provide education to all.
The program will be presided over by Dr. K Ramnarayan, Chairperson of the University. Dr. Vandana Suhag, the Registrar, stated that the Chief Guest Hon Shri Prakash Javadekar, Dr. K Ramnarayan, and Prof Sandeep Sancheti should award degrees to 1013 students of various streams of UG, PG and Ph.D. 671 are Engineering (UG and PG) students who have completed their course, 337 non Engineering (UG and PG) students along with 5 Ph.D. scholars shall be awarded degrees . Besides, 21 Gold Medals shall be awarded to students who have topped in different programs. Three more medals – Chairperson’s Gold Medal for overall excellence and one each for outstanding performance in extra- curricular activities and the other for excellence in research activities shall be awarded to the deserving students. The students of this graduating batch have taken part in National and International events winning laurels for the University. Majority of the students have been well placed. University has provided incubation support to a few students who have undertaken Startup projects.
President Dr. Sandeep Sancheti conveyed that MUJ provides excellent ambiance to promote creativity and innovation. The University has started
New courses from this academic session such as M.Com (Financial Analysis), BA Liberal Arts, Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports and M. Tech (Advanced Computing & Data Science in collaboration with C-DAC), M.A./M.Sc. Clinical Psychology.
A well-qualified team of 460 faculty members with more than 50% holding Ph.D. Degrees is the strength of the University. He further conveyed that the University has 19 funded projects with external funding of more than Rs 6 Cr. Besides this there are eight consultancy projects with total funding of 136 lacs. The University boasts of special facilities like Super Computer, IOT Lab, and Semi-Conductor Device Fabrication Lab.
The faculty is encouraged to have an internship in an industry to impart practical knowledge to the students. More than 70% of the final year students work for their projects in the industry to get hands-on experience. Ten industry supported labs are available.
Our students have developed cost effective Jaipur hand in collaboration with (BMVSS) and Robotic Rescue Arm in collaboration with JDA for children fallen in bore wells. Virtual Classroom which provides an opportunity to students to attend expert lectures across other institutions of the Group is operational. Dr. Sancheti said we have more than three dozen academic and industrial collaborations both at National and International level. The University has a strong alumni base, and a majority of them shall be attending the Convocation.
Dr. Vandana Suhag, Registrar said the University had deployed a fully functional ERP to integrate the working of all departments. She further mentioned that Shri Rajen Padukone, Group President MEMG, Dr H P Khincha, Advisor IISc Bangalore and Chairman Karnataka Innovation Council, Ms Mira Mehrishi, Full Time Member CMAC and Vice – Chairman, ADMA, Shri Sudhakar Rao, IAS, former CS Karnataka and Shri Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar, IAS, Commissioner College Education will also grace the occasion. Vice Chancellors of Universities, Educationists, Bureaucrats and local leaders shall also attend the convocation ceremony.
