History of the above occasion

Eid-Al-Fitr was started by Prophet Muhammad when he moved from Mecca to Madinah. In Madinah, he found that people celebrate two days for their enjoyment and recreation. So, he declared two days , one Eid-Al-Fitr and second Eid-Al-Adha to remember god and for fun.

What is the significance of the above occasion?

This occasion significance lies in the end of fasting of Ramadan. On this day, all the muslims are united.

What is the vidhi (method) of worship?

Eid-Al-Fitrbegins by keeping a clean cloth on a neat and clean place in JamaMasgid and is worship by all the muslims all over the country by performing the prayer of Eid al-Fitrwhich takes place in two different ways i.e. via two different procedures. First one is Sunny procedure and second one is Shia procedure.

Sunni procedure

First of all Niyyat is done for the prayer, then Imam and all their followers said Takbeer. Next, in the first Rakkat, they recite “Takbeer-e-Tehreema”. Then everyone raised their hands to their ears and said Allahu Akbar for six times and at the seventh time they fold their hands. Then Surah-e-Fatiha and other Surah read by the Imam. Then Ruku and Sujudperformed by the congregations. Now the first Rak’ah ends and the congregation rises up from their and fold their hands for the second Rak’ah. Now here, five takbirat said by the Imam and the further process is same as in the first Rak’ah. Now here the Eid prayer ends. Next there is a Khutbah.

Shia procedure

According to the Shia, two Rak’ah are performed in the Eid al-Fitr prayer. In the first Rak’ah, again Niyyat is done for the prayer, then five “Takbeers” takes place and at the time of every “Takbeer” there is a recitement of a special prayer by people worshipping Allah. Then the S?rat al-F?ti?ah and Surat Al-‘A`lárecited by Imam and the Ruku and Sujudare performed by the congregation, like in other prayers they do. Then the second Rak’ahbegins. Again Niyyat is done for the prayer, then five “Takbeers” takes place and at the time of every “Takbeer” there is a recitement of a special prayer by people worshipping Allah. Then the S?rat al-F?ti?ah and Surat Al-‘A`lá recited by Imam and the Ruku and Sujud are performed by the congregation. This is the end of their prayer and after thisKhutbahbegins.

How to celebrate this occasion?

This occasion is celebrated by all Muslims by visiting their friends and family members house, preparing and enjoying traditional sweet dishes, especially HyderabadiHaleem, carrying new clothes, offering gifts and saying Eid Mubarak to each other, give charity, give some money to childrens, go for shopping, girls apply mehendi on their hands and overall they meet each other and have lots of fun.

This occasion is celebrated after 29 days i.e. on the 30^th day of the last lunar month, if moon is not visible in the sky. It is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal month and at the end of Ramadan month.

This is celebrated by muslims all over the country but In Jama Masjid in New Delhi, AishbaghIdgah held in Lucknow, Mecca Masjid situated at Hyderabad, Red Road in Kolkata, this occasion is celebrated at a grand level.
