Holidays are approaching, and the time for school going children to play a part in different summer activity classes. The Annual Summer Training camp conducted at the City Palace of Jaipur is well liked among locals and global tourists. This camp is held to create alertness among the kids towards long-established art & culture of the state. The Annual Summer Training camp is instated by MLA Sawai Madhopur, Princess Diya Kumari on May 19, 2014 at the City Palace, Jaipur. The 1 month long camp is mutually organized by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, Saraswati Kala Kendra and Rangrit Sanstha, for which there is zero participating cost. This month long “City Palace Summer Training Camp” was conducted by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust, in conjunction with Saraswati Kala Kendra & Rangrit Sansthan with the intention to familiarize and take in the young minds with the wealthy cultural traditions of our nation.
This summer camp will be held by renowned artistes such as:
- Long-established painting (from 11 am – 1 pm by Ramu Ramdev, Babulal Marothia and Hament Ramdev)
- Kathak and folk dance (from 9 am – 11 am by Dr. Jyoti Bharti Goswami)
- Sitar (from 8 am – 10 am by Pandit Harihar Bhatt)
- Photography (from 8 am – 10 am by Yogendra Gupta and Purushottam Diwakar)
- Dhrupad (from 4 pm – 6 pm by Dr. Madhubhatt Tailang)
- Pakhawaj (from 4 pm – 6 pm by Pandit Pravin Arya).
At the closing stages of the month long training, a cultural program will be conducted at the City Palace- Jaipur where the children will present a fine-looking unification of art that they have learned during the month long training. A monstrous number of 250 kids contributed in the camp. During the camp, school kids gained knowledge of 5 different forms of Arts- Photography displayed by ‘Drupad’ classical singing by Dr. Madhu Bhatt Tailang, Mr. Yogendra Gupta (senior photographer), Sitar by Pandit Harishran Bhatt, Kathak Dance by Dr. Jyoti Bharti Goswami, Tabla/ Dholak by Mr. Mahendra Shankar Dangi and Painting displayed by Mr. Govind Ramdev, Mr. Ramu Ramdev and Mr. Babulal Marotia. The summer camp was held at no cost for participants.
The Summer Training camp at City Palace had ended with action-packed performances .The camp came to a conclusion on a joyful note with dazzling performances offered by participants of the summer camp. During the concluding ceremony, an assortment of cultural performances was exhibited by the participating kids at the ‘Sarvotobhadra Chowk’ in City Palace, Jaipur.
The final ceremony begun with the traditional lightening of the lamp by Dr. Chandra Mani Singh, the Library Director of the City Palace, and H.S. Jatrana, the Administrator Colonel. The events were followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’. At the time of the event, a lot of performances were also offered by students on the dissimilar aspects of what they had learned at the time of the camp. The school kids were also offered a great opportunity to display their photography and painting skills. The ceremony observed the incidence of praiseworthy Mr. Yunus Khimani, the Director of the City Palace Museum Trust to show the gratitude for the effort and also to enjoy the captivating performances of kids.
